Is there a way to replace an object definition with an other existing one when the user only have "read" rights on this last object (but have full rights on the object to be replaced?)
I tried "consolidation" function but it not permits it arguing the user doesn't have "delete" rights on one of the object.
Is there any other solution? A kind of "Find and replace" object?
Thanks
Hi Xavier,
I have an idea for you.....
During the consolidation, there's a radio button which can be set to "Do not delete after consolidation." The consolidation occurs but the delete privilege is not rquired. The "left-over" object will then be deleted when you run the next Reorganization maintenance routine on the database (which deletes all object definitions that have no occurrences on any models).
Best Regards,
Bob
Thanks a lot Bob,
Yet I'm afraid i still have the same problem. Actually I'm stuck at the first step of the consolidation (the user can't add an objet with only read access) , whereas the "do not delete after consolidation" radio button is available at he third step...
Thanks anyway.
Best regards.
