Hello,
I installed ARIS EXPRES 2.3. When starting ARIS a popup ENTER LICENSE KEY appear. I'm running Windows 7. Can somebody help me?
Kim
Hi,
does is appear if you start it or if you try to open a model? The first option is not known yet, the second one appears if the download or installation is crashed.
To get rid of the problem, the most secure way is a complete reinstall
1.) open the system panel and choose "Java"
2.) on the first page, section temporary internet files, choose "settings"
3.) click "delete" to delete all applications in the webstart cache
4.) open your user home
in XP, this is c:\documents and settings\<your user>
in Windows7, this is something like c:\users\<your user>.
5.) delete the "ARISExpress" folder
Do a new installation or use this link to get Express installed again.

Frank
Hi,
The problem is at start of Aris. I uninstalled Aris and removed the C:\users\<your user> dir. Then I ran youre link. Aris is installed. Now I get the activation Wizard. At the point of ENTER LOGON DATA I enter my user and password. A popup states Checking user and password. But it seems no progross, only a status bar is running from left to right.

Hi Kim,
please have a look at http://www.ariscommunity.com/aris-express/installation-faq#https
Express needs to connect to the community to check your ARISCommunity account. To do so, it uses an secure HTTPS connection. Your system does not allow Express to do this check, most likely due to the proxy settings.

Hello,
I had the same problem with the licence key than Kim. After I start ARIS as Admin this problem was no longer present but the next problem appears.
If I start ARIS as Admin the activation assistent starts. I have to accept the terms of use and have to enter my user name and my keyword. After I fill in my data and click next, I get an error message that I need a connection to internet at the first start of ARIS Express that my user data could be under study.
But I have an connection to the internet because I am logged in parallel at the ARIS Community.
Please, could anybody give me an approach to solution? I wrestle with this problem since over a week but i don't know what to do next to get ARIS Express to work.
Bye
Philipp
Hi Philipp.
This is the same problem. Sure, your browser is connected to the community, but your proxy settings do not allow Express to check your community account using HTTPS, and therefore I need to refer to http://www.ariscommunity.com/aris-express/installation-faq#https again.
Please ask your IT to help you out here.
Bye,
Frank
Hello Frank,
The problem still remains, I tried:
- checked the solution in the link http://www.ariscommunity.com/aris-express/installation-faq#https but the Java settings are correct
- I have internet access
- Disabled the virusscanner and the tried to logon
- Changed my password.
Kim
Hi Kim,
if Express is still not able to connect to the community to check your account, the proxy does not allow the connection. Even if you are able to connect with you browser, that does not mean that the proxy allow Express to do the connect.
There is nothing we can do from our side. You need to clarify this with your IT.
Bye,
Frank
