Hi everybody,

I have a small problem. We work with Business Architect for SAP for a few month now and synchronization between SolMan and ARIS just works fine. But now we also gave the modelers some Business Designer for SAP licences and the following error occurs:

Everytime the modeler enters a new Process Step (SAP Function) into an already synchronized Process, we get this error Message:

"Unable to determine the Logical Components. Please check whether the assignment relationships between the project element and this model are maintained consistently."

When I enter the same model with my Architect and enter a process step, the wizzard pops up and everything just works fine...

any ideas?

Kind regards

Michael

Hi Michael,

I tried to reproduce your problem but the function assistant works fine in my Business Designer for SAP. Therefore it would be very helpful if you could answer me some questions.

1. Do you use the same method filter which you use in Business Architect for SAP?

2. Does this problem occur only in one model or in all other models of the project and with other structure elements e.g. processes too?

3. Do you use different user for Designer and Architect. Does this effect occur when you use the same?

4. Is the assignment relations between the process model and the predecessor elements up to the project root faultless (Can you navigate from the project root over the assignments to concerned model)?

5. Is is possible to synchronize the project to Solution Manager without any errors?

6. Which version (e.g. 7.2.0.564171) of ARIS do you use?

7. Does the transaction assistant work for this process inside the FAD?

With your answers I am pretty sure that we can help you to solve your problem with the function assistant!

Best regards

Sascha Ding

Hi Michael,

have you checked if the relevant process have been synced to SolMan without any errors?

Have you checked if the user can log in from your Architect - what happens then? And try the other way around, log in with your Business Designer version and the user and try to create a SAP function.

Take care,

Philipp

Thanks for your input.

We updated the Business Designer to 7.2, now everything works fine.

Kind regards

As you have updated the client, you should also update the server to 7.2. Otherwise you might run into problems because of the different release versions.

Maybe Sascha could confirm this?

Hi ,

I am pleased to hear that it works after the update. And if you use the 7.2 Designer then is really better if you update you ARIS Business Server, whereby the 7.2 Designer should also work fine with 7.1 server. But it is right Philipp that the version gab beween client and server should be as small as possible to prevent any problems.

Best regards

Sascha
