Your students gain hands-on experience in business process modeling and learn to describe complex business information in a logical and understandable way
The highlights of ARIS Connect at a glance:
- Easy modelling enviroment
- Sharing and editing content
- Collaboration with a Community feature
- Cloud-based software without much installation effort
- Easy user and database management
Here is how to set it up:
If you are new to ARIS, we recommend watching the Quickstart Guide to learn how to install and configure ARIS in your academic environment. Reflecting the fact that you mostly deal with faculty members, students and guests, you see how easy these user groups are mapped with the licenses that you receive from University Relations.
You can watch the complete playlist on YouTube or pick the topics that are most important to you. You can easily navigate using the process images below. The super-short videos are grouped by the initial setup and the three major phases that match your educational needs, before, during and after your term:
Initial Setup: First you learn the basics about how-to set up ARIS in your academic environment. It’s all about installation, configuration, user- and database-management. This will take no longer than 10 minutes and doesn't require any special knowledge or skills.
Before the term: Then you prepare your upcoming term and learn how to use ARIS to invite your students to the environment. The highlight is, running a report that loads your complete students list with just one click. Once you know the students of your lecture, you want to go ahead and finish the preparation of the environment.
You might also want to assign your students the appropiate access rights so they can work on ARIS independently. Here is how to do that with the ARIS Architect/Designer Client. Please make sure the account you're using has been assigned the ARIS Architect role.
During the term: Next is how to introduce and guide your students. This includes a hello world tutorial and how-to backup your research or learning results (more Videos to come soon). Please don’t forget to point your students to the free option to get certified in ARIS.
- After the term: At the end of your term, you might want to clear or restore a database, delete users and free up your licenses for the next term (more Videos to come soon).
We trust, you find this series of videos beneficial and time saving. We are striving to create more videos to complete and extend this series for your convenience. Now go ahead and have fun with ARIS. We’d appreciate your feedback and your thumbs-up on the videos you liked most.
Please note: There are plenty of useful recommendations and instruction in the documentation that comes along with the download file. You also don't want to miss to have a look at the Know-how section. Regarding installation, configuration, user management and operations, there's a lot more to learn in the Adiministration videos.
We understand that requirements may differ from faculty to faculty. Therefore, we offer two options for your convenience:
Option A: You might want to install ARIS Architects (thin clients) on the PCs of your Faculty Lab, which can connect to the Server.
Option B: In case your Faculty Lab is not accessible, you might want to give permission to your students to download ARIS Architects (thin clients) directly from your Server and install it on their private PCs, which can connect to the Server.
If not already done, register now in the ARIS Community as faculty member and download the “ARIS Education Package for Faculties | Multi-user private cloud” in the download section.
