Hello Anna,
Just few informations to complete Sebastian answer :
dms solution
-> As sebastian explain, Aris is compliant with standard DMS Suite (documentum, livelink ...) but it requires a high level skills in configuration the Aris environment. If this environment is not already setup, a project expecting you.
shortcut solution
-> you can simply link to a document using the attributes "shortcut" and "shortcut name".
Fill the attribute with the adress of the document http:// .... or //serveurname/ ... Don't use a local mapping such u:/, v:/ ...
The document must be physically in a DMS or on a server, accessible or readable by all users (not on your local c:/ !). If on server, be carreful, the name of the document must not change, or you will lost your connection.
OLE solution
You also can embed a document to the model using the function insert / ole object.
just browse your document to add it in the model (not object as you required)
But be warned, you should follow the rule : "one document, one place" and must not duplicate your documents.
Hi Anna
You can add a hyperlink into the Function Objects system attributes, see link 1, obviously has to link to something everyone has access to... like a document in SharePoint.
Regards
Mike
Hello Vincent,
I have the same care as Anna.
I used the method "shortcut solution" with a link "http:// ... test.doc" on a model element that is in a diagram (eg Use Case diagram with a link to an external document "test.doc").
I grew filled fields ("shorcut" and "shorcutname") and I published in the tool "businesspublisher".
in "busiennspublisher" I see the link ... but it is not as hyperlink and therefore I can not activate the link ... I'm stuck!
Thank you for the solution ... by sending me to my email address: "mohamed.nour@arvatoservices.fr" procedure link "Aris" with a Word document without using the DMS.
Sincerely,
Mohamed Nour
Hi!
i can't find the "shortcut" and "shortcut name" attribute.
Which object has that attribute? i've check document and file cabinet and i dont find it.
I do have the "Link 1" Attribute which i successfully use to access a HTTP direction.
regards
Hi!
I chose the OLE solution by linking the documents (Excel) in my model. I wonder if it's possible to update all the linked documents at ones after I have updated the local files?
Thanks,
Manuel

Hello Anna,
ARIS supports major document management systems (DMS). Search the site for this term to get an idea of what is possible. I don't know if DMS support is included in Oracle BPA Suite. If not, this functionality can be added, but you would need to contact our sales.
Besides, you can always link a function to a document, which is located on a server or local file system. In that case, just open the attributes of the function and select a file for one of the file attributes (I think file attributes are located in the "system attributes" group).
