I’m happy to announce that the new release ARIS10 SR12 is now also live on our public cloud and the new features are available in ARIS Elements and ARIS Advanced.

ARIS Advanced welcomes you with a new Home view that might look familiar to you if you already used the ARIS Elements edition before. This redesigned start page allows a quick entry to the content relevant for you.

Thanks that you've deleted my previous post, that's the best way to show how you do communicate to your clients indeed. 

By the way, for instance, when Microsoft increases prices they inform their partners beforehand in 3-6 months, sometimes more. But it is not in SAG case... I'm sure your huckster commercials department's motto is "surprise mthfkrs" indeed

But anyway I'm not going to leave this question as it is, because this affects our business. Who can guarantee that you won't change prices again in 6 months? All the clients have only this question - should we continue using ARIS or it causes risks because in e.g. 1 year if you increase prices again who will pay for it?

And this is absolutely the same story you've done with 'on-premise' licenses increasing the price actually in more than +300%! That is absolutely ridiculous, and I just only wonder if you are consciously killing ARIS, or this is presale preparations of the business

Dear Artemiy, Software AG introduced a new product and pricing structure end of January to reflect market and customer requirements. Prices are not one to one comparable with the old structure. Yes, in some cases prices are higher, in others not. The Advanced edition became more expensive, but also got new and more professional features as we received feedback that many customers want to use a more professional software in the public cloud. On the other hand, for simpler use cases and less requirements a slimmer software was needed. That's why we introduced the Elements edition with an attractive price for smaller use cases. Elke, I'm sure price raising reflects customer requirements indeed )) 

Could you please point the feature in Designer or Viewer (in the viewer I know - purple bubbles) which differs from the previous version and wich causes +50% raising of prices. You also mentioned that some prices are not changed, that's not true - as we see Designer raised at 50%, but the Viewer is technically the same, but it is an old huckster's trick: if I need e.g. 4 Viewers I have to buy 10, so I will pay for 6 empty users now. BTW,  there is a new motto for SAG marketing: "in all companies: buy 2 get 3, in SAG: buy 3 get 2". 

Your clients (as we are) had to be aware that, that if you are starting BPM project, you can't be sure that in one year when you'll create hundreds of your EPCs, thousands of comments in the portal, you will be stuck when they raise prices next time (as high as they want).

Your clients have to know that using ARIS Cloud - is a financial risk.

To sum up the upper discussion and clarify some open points:

  • We are glad to have had the opportunity to discuss your questions directly in our constructive follow-up call on the first discussions. Further we agreed that you can raise feedback towards our Product Management & Product Marketing when necessary.
  • Prices change, but not often.  This is the first major pricing change since 2013.
  • The recent pricing adjustment has only been driven by simplification purposes, for our customers and our partners. So far, the feedback received - from various sources - was good. But indeed, some specific situations may remain unclear with this changed approach that is why we discussed this directly with you.
  • Regarding your feedback on the Viewers: the change into bundles of 10 viewers has been driven by the fact that this bundle size reflects the needs of the majority. As far as we know, a bundle of 10 is more flexible than the industry average as other software vendors sell larger bundles of e.g. 50, 100 for “viewing“ user types. For the other user types, you still have the option to choose single units.
  • Overall, we acknowledge your feedback and invite you and any other customers or partners with pricing questions to get in touch with us mailto:ARIS-Marketing@softwareag.com

As a matter of fact, forums are not the perfect place to discuss such topics in detail. Direct communication is much easier and avoids misunderstandings. Every situation is different and specific ones - e.g. like yours as a partner or customers using ARIS a very specific way - are not applicable to other situations so they may need special advice, and we’re here to help.
