Oh boy, it really hurts to read these examples of complete management failure knowing what impact that might have on companies - but this is what Scheer's chapter five is about. Nonetheless I have to admit that from time to time I could not help but smile when peeping through the keyholes of different Board meeting rooms! According to Scheer there is a clear typology of failure and he draws a list: The manager who is definitely overstrained, the extremely egomaniac manager, the yachtsman only able to sail when the weather is fair and - last but not least - the casual bystander....
