Allianz AG-  implementing a changing change

Marco Hauck as risk manager at Allianz Group Munich and program manager of the Solvency II program, explained the big progress they made the last months in the program. He talked about the choice of using a standard or internal model, the challenges of hundreds of calculations to be made around the globe in a global operating company. He answered a lot of questions of Dutch insurers.

University of Amsterdam - Compliance, shooting a moving target

Cees de Jong explained the history of Dutch law for Insurers. For Cees this was an easy job, he has been working in the insurance industry for more than 40 years and did several investigations for the University of Amsterdam.

Secondfloor - Solvency II experiences

Joyce Simmons was Chief Risk Officer of ING Central Europe for 5 years. She did in Amsterdam a very interactive session by Q&A to tease the audience on the current Solvency issues. This resulted in good conversations and humoristic situations.

Software AG - Integrated ERM solution with Solvency II reference model

Sven Roeleven, Director of ARIS BPM Consulting the Netherlands, demonstrated the brand new Solvency II Reference model in the ARIS Business Publisher. The Solvency II articles are mapped to interpretation/requirements, which are mapped to generic Insurance processes. The processes are worked out with identified Solvency II risks and mitigating control measures. Also the supportive SecondFloor and ARIS applications are designed in the typical Solvency processes like ORSA and ERM. In January the Reference database is released.

From 17h there was enough time to network and have a drink together. At the end Insurers are all struggling with the same compelling event of compliancy to Solvency II on the 1st of January 2013. Some help is needed here, we need to join forces! These kinds of initiatives and communities do help. You can ask your Software AG contact for the new Solvency II Reference database, it’s a huge accelerator of structure, content and methodology.
