Why is the product / scenario matrix essential for business and ICT/SAP allignment

The functional view Currently within many organizations, many process maps are created based on the hierarchical functional view of the business areas like Sales, Procurement and Finance. These process map can be used for the synchronization towards SAP Solution Manager (SSM) to create a functional decomposition within the SSM blueprint structure. This works fine if you have only have one scenario (like standard order) but gets difficult if you want to include other scenarios (like third party order, consignment order).

Realtime and ad-hoc collaboration in ARIS

Dear members, We are currently about to embed a completely new feature in our rich client products, which is intended to boost collaboration capabilities between BPM stakeholders significantly. May The IT Force Be With You - Gartners Symposium IT Expo celebrates its 20th birthday this week in Cannes!

Day 1 - Opening session Nearly every seat of the biggest theater of the famous Palais du Festival in Cannes was taken when Gartner started the conference with the opening session. In my opinion there are a lot of things Gartner is known for, but the most impressive one is how they actually organize events. Very professional, very structured and perfect in presentations. Especially the opening session reminds me of concerts where an impressive intro runs before finally the band appears.

    #LoungeTalk: SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002)

SOX is in a way the mother of all internal control regulations. Although not the first internal control regulation by a long way, it is the one that has had the greatest impact in terms of its magnitude and its (global) area of application. Enacted in 2002 by the US Congress, it eventually led to the coining of the term Governance, Risk & Compliance, or GRC.

Modeling social aspects of (software) processes

The introduction of a new software process in an organization is a difficult and often risky proposition. This is especially true when adopting agile processes like Scrum that usually imply radical departures from traditional team structures, cooperation styles and relationships. Unfortunately, descriptions of software processes (like this BPM-based view of SCRUM) focus on the sequence of process activities and on the artefacts generated in each activity but they mostly ignore the social aspects of the process, such as:
