    I just returned from our weekly ARIS Express status meeting and I want to give you an update about the current progress. Not even 2 months ago, we released ARIS Express to the public, but there are already 10.000 registered copies. People from all over the world are using ARIS Express and share their models here in ARIS Community. Currently, you can also win an iPod Touch if you share your ARIS Express model with ARIS Community members.

    What is ARIS?

    Here at ARIS BPM Community and ARIS BPM Blog, one would expect that we all have a common understanding what ARIS stands for. However, the term “ARIS” is like a chameleon, changing its meaning constantly depending on the context it is used in. For example, we use ARIS to refer to the software provided by IDS Scheer, but we also talk about the enterprise architecture framework ARIS and the modelling language ARIS. Those different meanings are all correct, but let’s try to be more precise.

    At the 14th of October the second BPM theme day for the SAP user group was organized in the Netherlands. The theme of the day was: Will the CIO be replaced by the Chief Processing Officer? More than 260 participants visited this BPM theme day although it was at the same day as the SAP World Tour (with 400 participants) was held. This means that BPM is getting more and more important for the SAP customers. The agenda highlighted the main topics of the day: the cooperation between ARIS and SAP and the added value of ARIS.
